The Octane Self-Drive Experience is our upcoming way to explore Japan through driving — not from the passenger seat, but from behind the wheel. Designed for car enthusiasts, this experience will allow participants to drive carefully selected vehicles on curated routes, combining iconic roads, scenic landscapes, and Japan’s unique automotive culture. Each self-drive experience will be built around immersion, freedom, and respect for the local environment — offering a premium and authentic way to discover Japan through driving. ⚠️ Coming Soon This experience is currently in development while we finalize all required authorizations. Booking & Eligibility Drivers must meet all legal driving requirements applicable in Japan at the time of the rental. A valid driver’s license and any required international or Japanese driving permits must be presented before the start of the rental. The rental is personal and non-transferable. Only registered drivers are authorized to drive the vehicle. Cancellation Policy Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental start time will incur a 50% cancellation fee. In case of a no-show or cancellation on the day of the rental, no refund will be issued. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Vehicle Use Vehicles must be driven responsibly and in full compliance with Japanese traffic laws. Any reckless driving, illegal activity, or misuse of the vehicle will result in immediate termination of the rental without refund. The vehicle must only be used on approved public roads. Track use, racing, drifting, or competitive driving is strictly prohibited unless explicitly authorized in writing. Damages & Liability The renter is responsible for the vehicle during the entire rental period. Any damage, loss, fines, or penalties incurred during the rental will be charged to the renter. In the event of an accident or incident, the renter must immediately inform Octane and follow the provided procedures. Force Majeure Octane shall not be held responsible for cancellations or changes caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to weather conditions, road closures, government restrictions, or safety concerns. Final Notes By confirming a booking, the renter acknowledges having read, understood, and agreed to this Rental Car Policy.
